To maintain “Gold Standard” integrity, TheIdealPrice.com utilizes a multi-factor forensic audit to assign each product an Eco-Score from $0$ to $100$. We do not accept generic marketing terms like “natural” or “eco-friendly” without primary source verification.

Our algorithm evaluates the environmental impact across five “Cradle-to-Grave” stages:

2. The Forensic Weighting Formula

We apply a weighted average to generate the final score, ensuring no single “green” feature masks a poor overall record (Anti-Greenwashing Protocol).

• Silver Standard Warning: If a product relies on self-reported data without independent verification, its score is capped at 50 regardless of claims.
• Offset Policy: Per 2026 regulations, carbon offsets are excluded from the core Eco-Score calculation to ensure the score reflects actual lifecycle impact, not just financial compensation.
